Caston

| Race: Human | Class: Artificer Armorer | Status: Deceased |
A pale, skinny, gloomy man who was the brains of the group. Caston came from a family of monster hunters whose symbol was a wilted rose. Despite his gaunt appearance, he was a formidable warrior thanks to his artificer armor.
The Runed Armor
Caston’s armor was no ordinary equipment. The heavy plating attached directly to his skin through magic runes carved into his flesh — a painful price for protection, but one that made him nearly indomitable in battle. The armor transformed his frail body into something that could stand against the darkness of Barovia.
The Search for His Sister
Caston came to Barovia searching for his sister, who had disappeared into this cursed land. What he didn’t know was that she had been taken captive by Strahd and killed. When the party found someone they believed to be Caston’s sister and attempted a rescue, they discovered the horrible truth: Envy had taken her place, wearing her form as a cruel deception.
Confrontation with Envy
During a confrontation with the sin of Envy, Caston met his end. The creature that had worn his sister’s face destroyed him completely — disintegrated into nothingness. There was no body to recover, no last words, just the sudden absence where once stood Barovia’s most brilliant tactician.
The wilted rose of his family crest proved prophetic. Like his sister before him, Caston fell to the darkness of Barovia, another life claimed by Strahd’s cursed realm and the sins that haunted it.
